Epicondylitis, also known as golfer's or tennis elbow, is a painful condition in which the tendons at the elbow become inflamed. Golfer's elbow affects the inside of the elbow, while tennis elbow affects the outside. These injuries can be caused by overuse during sporting activities or repetitive work. Treatment includes rest, physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, and in some cases injections. It is important to reduce stress on the affected arm to promote healing.

Epicondylitis occurs due to repetitive stress and overuse of the tendon attachments to the elbow. Sports activities such as golf or tennis can promote this.

Rest and protection are crucial for epicondylitis. Physical therapy can provide exercises to strengthen forearm muscles and improve flexibility. Pain-relieving medications can be taken in consultation with a doctor. In severe cases, corticosteroid injection may be considered. Ergonomic adjustments in the workplace are important. If symptoms persist, an orthopedist or physiotherapist should be consulted.
