The extensor pollicis brevis is a muscle located in the forearm. It originates from the ulna and the radius and inserts into the base of the proximal phalanx of the thumb. The extensor pollicis brevis primarily functions to extend the thumb at the carpometacarpal joint and the wrist joint.
