disc prolapse
The longissimus thoracis is a long muscle along the spine in the thoracic region. It runs from the sacral processes to the occipital bones and is responsible for straightening and stabilizing the spine. The longissimus thoracis also plays a role in lateral flexion and rotation of the spine, as well as postural control. It is one of the most important muscles of the back and contributes to an upright posture.
