Here's what we do together during a session and how it works. During our session, we will walk through the Theratogs sizing process step by step. We measure precisely and discuss how to correctly interpret the measurement result to ensure the ideal fit. We also explain how different models and sizes can vary and how this influences your choice. Here we go! We'll start with a phone call.
Preliminary telephone consultation (approx. 15 minutes): An experienced therapist will contact you by telephone. During this conversation, you can ask your initial questions and the therapist will introduce themselves. This is also the opportunity to discuss your expectations and goals. Medical Background Inquiry: The therapist will ask about your child's medical background to determine whether Theratogs are an appropriate option. This helps ensure that therapy meets individual needs.
Booking the Theratog sizing appointment (55 minutes): If it is determined that Theratogs could fit, you can book a 55-minute appointment for the Theratog fitting online here book. Make sure the appointment corresponds to your child's daily rhythm, for example not during bedtime or mealtimes.
Arrive early: Please arrive at the clinic 10-15 minutes before the agreed appointment so that your child can get used to the new environment and start therapy happily. The clinic offers a warm and familiar environment.
Physiotherapeutic examination and selection of the appropriate Theratog: During the session, your child will be examined physiotherapistically and the appropriate Theratog will be selected and put on. Your child should wear tight-fitting clothing on the day of the fitting, as the Theratog will later be worn directly on the skin.
Functional check with the Theratog: On the day of the sizing, we will determine together whether the Theratog has a positive effect on your child's motor development. This may include improved head control, better crawling, sitting, running, jumping, or playing with a ball. In some cases we have observed increased muscle tone can be reduced due to improved core strength.
Added value of the session: In addition to adjusting the Theratogs, you will also get to know individualized functional exercises. Your child's daily routine is analyzed and optimized to promote its physical and mental resources, for example through motor games. Any equipment you have will be checked and adjusted if necessary to meet the needs of your child or family member.
Please note that the costs for this session must be borne privately as they are not currently covered by health insurance or IV. If you decide to purchase Theratogs, the amount of the fitting session will be credited to the Theratog purchase.
The next step is to decide which products to order. We usually recommend a double pack because you want to wear the Theratogs as often as possible and that means you also have to clean them. If you clean them, you'll have a second pair to wear. It can also be useful to have another one at daycare or school if needed. Most customers order 2 - 3.
