Buying TheraTogs made easy: tips for a smooth process

From the first free phone call to your child wearing their TheraTogs at home — the four steps of our sizing and fitting process, and how to prepare for each one.

TheraTogs are "therapy you wear" — and because they only work when they fit precisely, buying them is a guided process rather than a simple checkout. The good news: it's four clear steps, and we walk them with you. A small tip before you start — read up on TheraTogs, browse the shop, and note down every question that comes to mind. There are no silly ones. Fitted well, TheraTogs become one of the everyday tools inside ORCA — Objective Reasoning & Clinical Architecture, our therapy framework.

The process at a glance

  1. Intro call with a TheraTogs therapist (25 minutes) — free of charge.
  2. Sizing session at the centre — around 70 minutes of assessment and information (credited if you buy).
  3. Ordering — delivery takes on average 7–10 working days (Mon–Fri).
  4. Fitting session — around 70 minutes, online or at the centre: adjusting the product and learning to use it.

Step 1: the free intro phone call

An experienced therapist calls you for about 25 minutes. You can ask your first questions, talk through your expectations and goals, and the therapist will ask about your child's medical background — this is how we establish, honestly, whether TheraTogs are a suitable option before anyone spends money. Reach us whenever suits you: message, chat or WhatsApp.

Step one is just a conversation — expectations, goals, and whether TheraTogs fit your child's needs.

Step 2: the sizing session

If TheraTogs look like a match, you book a roughly 70-minute sizing appointment. Pick a time that respects your child's rhythm — not nap time, not lunch — and aim to arrive 10–15 minutes early so your little one can settle into the new surroundings. The centre is warm and family-friendly; a good coffee or tea will be waiting.

During the session your child is examined by a physiotherapist and the right TheraTogs model is selected and tried on (dress your child in close-fitting clothing that day — TheraTogs are later worn directly on the skin). Together we check what the garment actually changes: better head control, steadier crawling, sitting, walking, jumping or ball play. In some children, improved trunk strength even reduces elevated muscle tone. You'll also take home individualised functional exercises, a review of your child's daily routine, and a check of any equipment you already own.

One honest note on costs: the sizing session is currently privately paid — it isn't yet covered by health insurance or IV (we're working on changing that). If you go on to buy TheraTogs, the session fee is credited against your purchase.

Step 3: choosing and ordering

Next, decide which products to order from the TheraTogs shop. Because TheraTogs are worn as often as possible — that's the whole point of wearable therapy — one garment is rarely enough.

How many TheraTogs?

  • One to wear, one in the wash — the practical minimum is two.
  • A third set for nursery or school saves a lot of logistics.
  • Double and triple sets are better value than single purchases.
  • Delivery averages 7–10 working days (Mon–Fri).

Step 4: fitting and instruction

Once your order arrives, the second roughly 70-minute session shows you the optimal way to put the TheraTogs on, adjust them and care for them. Wherever possible we connect this session directly with a DMI or physiotherapy session, so your child starts benefiting immediately — and then the TheraTogs go home with you. Our certified TheraTog fitters remain available afterwards, in person or online, for every question that comes up.
